Baptism

Here is my testimony that I was prompted to write for my baptism on 5/12/17. I wasn’t baptized until I was 25, so it’s a brief  1-page culmination of my encounters with God and a testament to how

good, great, and faithful He has been.

...The List Goes On...

By: James Murray

He has made me in His image and likeness.

He has given me the mind of Christ – to think and act on that which is true, holy and pure.

He’s given me my physical body, as a tool to not only worship Him, but minister to others.

He has placed in me [spiritual] gifts and [unique] talents.

He sent His son to die [for ME!]

Whether it be physical, spiritual or financial… He has been my provider.

One of the greatest thing’s He’s given me is a mother - who is loving, caring and supportive. As Proverbs 22:6 instructs, she has trained up a child [me] in the way that I should go; in which I am growing and will never depart from.

Time after time, failure after failure, back-slide after back-slide…

He invites me to the alter, and accepts me

with open arms.

He’s given me a church home and a church family who are constant reminders of how great, powerful, real, and loving He is.

He’s been a friend.

He’s given me a pastor. A pastor who tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!!

He has [and continues to] heal my [broken] body and [duplicitous] mind.

He has removed the spirit of fear [along with lust, pride, selfishness, laziness, contentment, etc.] from within me and placed in me His Holy Spirit.

He has opened my mind, eyes and heart to new relationships, and has blessed me with like-minded righteous brothers and sisters in Christ – who inspire, love, and minister to me on a daily basis.

He’s given me freedom – to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Along with freedom to be who He has called me to be.

He’s made a way.

He has been my peace & strength in the times of trouble.

He loved me, when I didn’t even love myself.

He’s given me a brother who annoys the heck out of me. JK! But by placing me as the oldest of all my siblings [and with help from the Holy Spirit] He’s shown me the necessity of patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control, and love.

He has given me His word. And has washed me in the water of it.

He has restored my soul. Including the joy that the enemy [and my own actions] took away.

He’s given me the aptitude to forget those things which are behind me. And the mindset, strength and hand to reach for what is ahead.

He’s done exceedingly and abundantly, above all I could ever ask or think.

By the blood of His son, Jesus Christ, He has made me new. He’s called me righteous. Changed my name, & made me a new creature.

He picked me up.

He turned me around.

He woke me up this morning… and He started me on my way…

He lifts my head.

He is an awesome God!

I hope to one day share my testimony [in detail]

through an evening-length dance concert.
